Details Remains of a mansion, the ancestral home of the Bisset family, probably dating back as far as 1470, replace by a 17th Century asymmetrical Jacobean house, mainly 2-storey probably originally with attics. Later additions incorporated the earlier house. It was enlarged and repaired in 1837 for Walter Bisset by Archibald Simpson. Largely destroyed by fire in 1928, and now much overgrown with large sections fallen in. There survives a walled garden to the northwest but no special features. See NJ54SE0049 for designed landscape.
