The 'Muckle Hoose' is a 2-storey west facing 5-bay house, with regular 4 window fenestration and an off centre door, built in circa 1771, and possibly incorporating earlier work. There is irregular rear fenestration with an off centre entrance masked by a modern lean-to porch. The roof is of slate with end and ridge stacks and the glazing is 4-pane. In the garden are remains of the Tower of Deskford (see also NJ56SW0001), and the house may possibly have been a portion of later addition to the tower. Some fragments of the vaulted ground floor of this tower also survive in the garden of the Muckle Hoose.
