Former inn, later used as a school and now in residential use, built in the late 18th century and converted to a school in 1861. The 1st edition OS map shows three buildings depicted as a school. The 2nd edition OS map shows a fourth building added to the west, and it is no longer depicted as a school. Current OS maps show one of the buildings to the west has been removed, and the remaining buildings show some minor alterations. The main building is a two-storey, three-window, harl-pointed rubble building. When it was converted to a schoolhouse in 1861, a single-storey rough ashlar schoolroom with a broad-eaved, low-pitched roof was added.
