Details Former Free Church, depicted on OS 2nd edition map, replacing an earlier church to the west. The OS 1st edition map shows a Free Church at NJ6084724903 on the south side of the farmstead of Waukmill. The church (and all but one building of the farmstead) had been removed by the time of the 2nd edition and a new church built to the east, adjacent to the manse. It has now been converted to a house. It is rectangular in plan, built of granite with a slate roof. Two pointed arch windows on the south gable end now have modern glazing. The central section of the gable is slightly advanced but has been changed during conversion. A large area of the central gable has been removed and replaced by a recessed curved wall of glass. On top of the gable is a large bellcote, which is capped by a stone spire and finial. RCAHMS site visit May 1999 noted that nothing is now visible of the earlier church.
