Details Site of Ardmiddle House, the home farm (still in use) and remains of a designed landscape. The house was built in 1836 and enlarged in 1868. It was in Elizabethan style, also formerly called Scobbach, but demolished in the 1950s. The OS 1st edition map also shows a gas works to the northwest of the house and walled garden to the southeast. South of the garden is the Home Farm, an E-plan steading, and kennel with pond and sluice to the south. The 2nd edition map shows the addition of a laundry to the east of the gas works, and glasshouses within the walled garden. Current maps indicate that the gasworks and garden structures have been removed and the pond infilled.
