Details Walled garden with pavilions, still in use, built in the early 19th century to the south-west of Carnousie House (NJ64NE0079). The terraced walled garden has rubble walls that are brick-lined or harled to the garden, with Turriff sandstone quoins and coping. There are pointed-arched gateways to the north and south corners to the east and west walls, with stone overthrows (missing to the south-west) and with spear-headed cast-iron gates. The walls rise in a curved gable to the north elevation. There is a supporting lean-to and wood-framed greenhouses, and a doorway to an underground stair in the terrace possibly leading to a potting shed. There are three pavilions that are pyramidal-roofed with cast-iron finials, one of which is now very overgrown.
