It is of cylinderical shape with two continuous rat ledges, the higher above a reset 17th century armonial panel with a thistle over a crown with a lion rampant with a sword in its paws and the date 1694. There are semi-circular flight hole above with additional flight holes above and facing west. It has a bell-cast slate roof. The wooden nesting boxes are mostly destroyed but the potence remains. To the north of the dovecot is an early 19th century walled garden which is roughly oval in shape (NJ64NW0085), and the dovecot set into the south wall.
