Farmstead, still in use, located to the north of Skene House (NJ70NE0012) and adjacent to the designed landscape (NJ70NE0137). It is depicted on the OS 1st edition map as a group of at least six buildings, the southern three arranged in a U-plan forming a court open to the east, with the southern rectangular building being a cottage. From the eastern end of the northern range a long range extends to the north. To the west of its northern end is another range running east/west with a horse-mill against the northern side. The layout is essentially unchanged on the 2nd edition map, with some alterations and additions. There have since been further alterations and additions shown on the current edition OS map, with the west ranges of the southern steading complex and the northern horse-mill no longer shown, and the southern cottage building shown as Garden Cottage. A photographic survey was carried out in 2022 prior to proposed redevelopment of Garden Cottage.
