Details Churchyard at Inverurie, and later cemetery. The old churchyard has a good collection of 17th century stones lying within it, notably that to Walter Innes of Ardtannes (1616). There are also ball-capped gatepiers which are Listed category B. A mortsafe tackle formerly in the churchyard has been moved to Inverurie museum (see also NJ72SE0015). Also within the churchyard are four Pictish symbol stones (NJ72SE0011), and the remains of a 12th Century motte and bailey castle (NJ72SE0013, NJ72SE0127). The churchyard contains 11 First and Second World War Commonwealth war graves.
