Site of infectious diseases hospital, with the site now occupied by retirement/sheltered housing dating from 1984. It was opened in January 1897, but was replaced in the 1930s by the present Inverurie Hospital (NJ72SE0181) to the South West. The hospital is shown on the 2nd edition OS map (1899) as an L-plan building, with projections on the North elevation and West end. To the North is a rectangular building with a recessed central section. There is an L-plan building within an adjacent enclosure to the East shown on the map. It is separate from the other buildings in Inverurie at the time, suggesting it is associated with the hospital. A rubble-built L-plan building remains on the site, although the rear wing would appear to have been extended. It is in a different style to the residential buildings that now surround it, so it may well be the original building as seen on the 2nd edition OS map.
