Details Remains of an earthwork, which stand to the south-west of Bethelnie, and may represent the remains of a Homestead Moat. Formerly the ditches were 3-4 m wide and 1.82 m deep, but now only south and west ditches survive circa 0.20 m deep. The north ditch is only faintly discernible and all traces of the east ditch have been removed by the construction of a field drain along its length. There are no trace of banks. The farmer reports that the soil in the area is of poor quality, possibly indicating the former existence of buildings. It is shown on the OS 1st edition map as a Roman camp, but on the 2nd edition as site of earthwork.
