Details Corn mill (the upper mill) built in 1838 and later rebuilt. The 1st edition shows an L-plan mill, named Mill of Kennerty, which had been extended by the time of the 2nd edition map on which it is named Kennerty Mills. The mill is dated 1838 at the kiln but incorporating earlier masonry, with additions and rebuilding (following a fire) in 1942-3. It is 2-storey rubble built, on an L-plan with a kiln (of brick) in the angle, and horse vane at the vent. There are two external start-and-awe 14 feet wheels, one for barley, the other for meal, fed by a bifurbicated lade. Upper Kennerty Mill was a barony mill and has always been a grain mill.
