Remains of a hut circle recorded by field survey as part of a larger programme of archaeological work on the hut circles in the wood, the Kintore Landscapes Project (see NJ81NW0230). It lies to the northwest of a previously known group of hut-circles (NJ81NW0003). Sample excavation was carried out in 2011. This hut circle (No. 5) measured 10.6 m internally and 15.6 m externally. No pottery was found but an assemblage of lithics was recovered, comprising 20 lithics from the structure and 20 lithics from test pits around it. These include a blade fragment made from chalcedony/jasper, an end scraper, a side scraper and other flakes. It was of two phases of construction, radiocarbon dating of the soil indicating it was built after 1669-1522 BC.
