Details Former rectangular coach-house with attached glasshouse to the rear, depicted on the OS historic maps, within the designed landscape of Parkhill (NJ81SE0056). A sundial is shown to the southwest on the later historic and current edition OS maps. A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out in November 2021 by C. Stenhouse, prior to proposed redevelopment. The main use of the building was originally as a stable with hayloft, coach and equipment store, with evidence of a bothy living area and later in use as a vehicle garage. A large glasshouse was added to the building before 1865 and heated via a coal fire and a hot water pipe system from the adjacent boiler room. The glasshouse was in use until 2020, but was reported as being in a state of disrepair in 2021.
