Details Monument to Queen Victoria depicted on the OS 2nd edition map. It comprises a raised platform of harled random rubble about 3.6m in diameter and 3.5m in height, with an external flight of steps with an iron handrail which extends around the lip of the platform. On the platform the stump of a flagpole is surrounded by the remains of a circular iron bench. A cartouche set into the side of the platform has the representation of a sailing ship, the latin motto 'Per Perigulum Vivo' and the legend 'Erected on the 50th Anniversary of Queen Victoria's first visit to Aberdeen when she was received by George Thomson junior, Esq, The Lord Provost and afterwards MP for Aberdeen. Erected by Mr and Mrs George Thomson, Yost. Pitmedden 8th September 1898'.
