Details Designed landscape of Grandhome House (NJ81SE0569). To the west of the house is a garden wall, with two gate piers with ball finials and a niche with a sculptured winged head, and the laundry. The laundry is single storey. To the north of the house is a walled garden shown on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The garden walls are of drystone granite and 8 feet high on the north and east sides, with an inner brick skin rising 2 feet higher. There are lower rubble walls on the other sides and running across the garden. The 2nd edition also shows a sundial within the garden. The present sundial erected in 1923 consists of an old cap of obelisk type with modern shaft and ball finial. Northeast of the house is a U-plan steading, and east of the house is a dovecot (NJ91SW0391).
