Details Quay and basin depicted on historic OS maps. On the 1746 Paterson map of Aberdeen this area is shown as ‘Pockraw’ ‘a harbour for fishermens boats’. A pier appears on the 1773 George Taylor plan of the city which annotates ‘The Pokraw’ and ‘The New Pear’. On the 1810 John Smith map 'of the city and its improvements with the wet and dry docks and other works connected with harbour' a basin is shown on the south side of the quay. It appears to have been altered by he 1832 Great Reform Act map. Both Pocra Jetty and Lower Basin are named on the OS 1st edition map. See also NJ90NW0265 for Aberdeen harbour.
