Harbour basin built in 1869-70, now a fish dock. This was the route of the River Dee prior to its diversion in 1868. On the north side the OS 2nd edition map shows the fish market and Commercial Quay. A dry dock (NJ90NE0229) for repair and overhauling of steamships was opened at the East end of the Albert Basin in 1885, and is depicted on the OS 2nd edition map. It was demolished in 1924-7 to enable construction of an extension to the fish market.
