Site of a mansion house of three periods, the earliest dating to the mid 17th Century. The oldest part was the northwest wing, built by James Gordon, a baillie of Old Aberdeen in 1661. The central portion dates from circa 1715-25, and the northeast wing was added in the early 19th century. The Georgian mansion, in Classic Renaissance style, stood near the river and was built by handmade bricks from the Seaton brickfield. The OS 1st edition shows the house with a formal garden to the West, and more informal grounds beyond and to the South and East of the house. The house was acquired by Aberdeen City Council in 1947, but destroyed by fire in 1963 and subsequently demolished. For estate see NJ90NW0215, and lodge NJ90NW0852.
