Original site, marked by a plaque, of a town house known as Wallace Tower in Netherkirkgate. Also known as Benholm's Tower, it was built between 1610 and 1616 for Sir Robert Keith of Benholm, and was unique as being a Z-plan tower house used as a town 'lodging. The figure in the recess over the door is believed to be a liekness of Sir Robert. A wing was added circa 1789, and there were further alterations in the 19th century. In the 20th century it was used as a public house. It was moved to its present location in Tillydrone in 1964 (NJ90NW0021).
