Site of a sugar refinery warehouse. The sugar refinery was built in 1776 by a group of Aberdeen merchants to refine raw sugar brought from the West Indies. It closed in 1798 and the building used for other purposes, including a provision preserving works (James Moir and Sons, pioneers of the canning of meat and fish). The refinery was to the East (No.73 - Listed, Category C), separated from the warehouse by Sugarhouse Lane. The warehouse was a 7-storey rubble built building 2 by 4 bays, with a 4-bay gabled frontage.
