Site of a wool mill and knitwear factory, dating from the 1750s, with additions and alterations by Walker and Duncan 1891. The mill specialised in spinning and weaving and by the late 19th Century was one of the biggest carpet manufacturers in Britain. On the OS 1st edition map it is annotated as 'Hadden's Factory (Woollen and Carpets)', with an entrance lodge at the Southeast corner of the site. By the time of the 2nd edition map more buildings had been added within the complex, but the southwest corner of the site was now used by a railway siding.
