Details Site of a brickworks depicted on the OS 2nd edition map. Seaton Brick and Tile Company moved from Seaton to Torry in 1883 to an area now covered by Crombie Road. It utilised a seam of clay which runs down the east coast of Scotland. There were two Brick and Tile works at Seaton (NJ90NW0828) and one at Strabathie at Black Dog, north of Aberdeen, which all used clay from this seam. The clay at Torry was exhausted by the end of the 19th century by which time Strabathie was in business.
