Details Excavation carried out in 1973 produced evidence for Medieval frontage structures and plot division from the late 12th or 13th century and the remains of wooden buildings representing five stages of construction between the late 12th and 14th centuries. The best preserved were dated to the 14th century. There was evidence of the use of sill beam construction, stone foundations and post-and-wattle in building. This location was formerly the southern end of the medieval Gallowgate. See NJ90NW0008 for excavation on adjacent site.
