Details Church, still in ecclesiastical use, built in 1849-51 by Thomas Mackenzie of Mackenzie and Matthews. On the OS 1st edition map it is named as St John's Episcopal Chapel. The tower, originally intended for a spire, was completed later. The north aisle and vestry were added by Pirie and Clyne in 1898. The building is mid-pointed with an aisled nave, chancel and transept and a battlemented porch and tower. The chancel arch has a mural over and there is a fine scheme of chancel decoration that is partly covered over by later scheme. The OS 1st and 2nd edition maps show a school (now in use as the church hall) linked to the south side of the church.
