Hut base, one of three which survives from Peterseat Ack-Ack Battery/Prisoner-of-War camp (NJ90SE0038, NJ90SE0039). Recorded by CFA field survey. (NJ90SE0586). This rectangular concrete base is the remains of one of the huts initially used at the start of World War II by staff of the Anti-Aircraft (or Ack-Ack) battery The huts were used from 1945-8 by the German PoWs held at the site, known as Nigg Hostel. Memories of the former occupants of these huts revealed that they were basic: they had a central fire which did not really heat the hut and basic beds. During the period of the Ack- Ack battery's use of the huts, women received 2 blankets whilst male occupants only received one.
