Details Bandstand within Duthie park (NJ90SW0989), constructed by McDowall, Steven and Co, Glasgow in 1893. It is octagonal, of cast-iron on a granite plinth with five steps leading to the platform. There are eight cast-iron supports (stamped with the makers' name) around the perimeter, linked by geometric railings with another column to the centre. The copper ogee roof has a boarded timber underside, and is supported on decorative ironwork brackets. There is a weathervane on the apex, and decorative ironwork finials at the angles of the roof, with cartouches bearing the Aberdeen coat of arms between.
