Details Remains of anti-tank blocks. RCAHMS visit 1996 recorded two concrete anti-tank blocks studded with stones on their upper surfaces lie in the channel of the Blairton Burn on the seaward side of the dunes that fringe Pettens Links. Defence of Scotland project noted a double row of circa 40 blocks. The line of anti-tank blocks is visible on postwar vertical air photographs Survey by AOC Archaeology 2006 and 2007 recorded a total of 30 anti-tank blocks in and around the channel of the Blairton Burn. The line of concrete blocks extends northwards and another group is visible at the mouth of the Menie Burn. The pillbox was not visible during the visit by RCAHMS in 1996 and is likely to have either been removed by the sea or buried by the drifting sand dunes. Anti-tank blocks across the mouth of the burn and a pillbox on the edge of the dunes were reported in February 2014 following winter storms (NJ91NE0139). They were originally part of defensive line which extended from Foveran Links to Blackdog Links.
