Remains of a World War II pillbox. Originally it would have stood on the dunes but as a result of erosion it has tumbled down the sandy cliff and is now inverted. It is 6-sided, probably a Type 24, although there are no embrasures either side of the doorway, and no internal anti-ricochet wall. There are embrasures on each of the other five sides. It appears to been have been covered by sand for many years after tumbling, but exposed in 2023 by storm activity. Site visit in April 2023 also noted a number of anti-tank blocks also exposed on the beach at this time to the south (see also NJ91NE0069).
