Details Alleged mines on the hill of S Fardin. Cochran-Patrick writing in 1978 noted that there was a silver mine on the north side of the hill in the late 17th century. The location and name Tilry which a burn ran to are no longer known locally and the exact location of these alleged mines has not been established. No traces are evident in what is now an area of improved fields. The grid reference may be wrong. A South Farden Croft exists at NJ 964 260.
