Manor house and site of possible earlier manor/ mansion house. Possible 17th century work is thought to exist in the remains of the house dated 1772 (predating the present Auchmacoy House), and which is now converted into garages and factor's office. It was originally 2-storey and basement, 5-window with quadrant links to single-storey piend roof wings. The main block has been reduced in height and coach doors inserted, and the quadrants were removed after 1834. The back wing of the main block is intact. The present house was built 1831, of Scots Elizabethan design, 2-storey harled with granite dressings, and shafted chimneys. The south front is symmetrical, the centre projecting with gable and bay-window. It has two mullioned windows, porch with Tudor doorpiece and shaped gable, circular conical roofed tower and lower north wing. The simple Neo Greek interior has some fine chimney pieces, a few perhaps from old house. To the north of the house were the kennels. The house is set with an area of designed landscape with a walled garden to the southeast of the house. A gasometer is shown at NJ 9899 3096 to the west of the house on the OS map of 1888. A Tudor style mausoleum (NJ93SE0067) in the grounds was built for Thomas Buchan.
