Details Remains of windmill, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is 17.5m high, although the top 1.7m appears to be a later addition being constructed of red-brick and castellated. The original part of the tower is constructed of whinstone, sandstone and granite. The upper section, 1.8m high, is of squared and coursed whinstone and red sandstone. The lower section is speckled rubble and is harled. The windmill is surrounded by a group of buildings at one time used as a saw mill. At one time the chimney from the saw mill boiler house went up the tower. During World War II, it was converted into a look-out post. At ground level, on the north face, there are the remains of a fire box which was part of an alteration when the tower was used for curing fish.
