Farmstead, no longer in use, depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as a large U-plan steading, open to the south, with a category A-listed farmhouse (NJ96NE0025) and walled garden to the south. The farm was a 90 acre arable farm, and was extremely fortunate as regards water sources. The Lady's Well (to the west of the farm buildings), from which the farm water supply was drawn, is noted as being an abundant spring of excellent water quality. There was also a dam, sluice and lade to the northwest which carried water to drive the wheel which powered the threshing mill in the west wing of the steading. A further four wells are depicted within the former extent of the farm's land. The farm was built by the Cumines in 1734 and sold, along with Pittulie, to Sir William Forbes of Pitsligo in 1787. The house and steading must originally have been situated in the centre of the farm, but in 1903 part of the farm was given up as fen land with the village, and to make the adjoining meal mill into a croft (NJ96NE0019). Photo survey carried out in 2011.
