Site of short cist, found in a gravel knoll in September 1941 by Mr Robert Simpson (information from undated private 6 in map) whilst digging shingle in a gravelly knowe about a quarter-mile south of Boghead Farm. It contained an N3 beaker with comb decoration. The axis of cist was east-southeast - west-northwest. The top of the capstone was circa 1 m below ground level, the cist measured 0.91 m by 0.61 m by 0.76 m deep. No trace of the cist remains. It contained an urn 6 3/8 inches high, but no skeletal remains. The urn is in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS), presented through Dr W D Simpson, who also gave particulars of the find.
