Small settlement of fisherman's houses dating from the mid to late 19th Century. Consists of several parallel ranges of 2-storey ashlar masonry houses. Although none of the first feus were set off in this area, it is mentioned in the original feu contract as being the town's commonty and pasturage. However, during the 17th Century, the superiors granted feus along the shore and the process was speeded up after the Merchants Company of Edinburgh became superiors following 1715.
