Details A World War I memorial to the Peterhead 5th Battalion Gordon Highlanders stands in the Kirk Street triangle traffic island. It is of an unusual design of six-sides standing on a two step, six-sided base. It is topped with a small pyramidal caphouse again of six sides supported by six, six-sided small pillars. Carved into the sides is the regimental crest along with the names of the battles. Set in the road island behind it is another plaque of rectangular shape with the names of the dead from the regiment. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive.
