Details A trial trenching evaluation was carried out in May 2004 by MAS on an area of ground at the corner of Ellis Street and the north end of Longate. The evaluation showed the site to have been heavily disturbed by service trenches in the eastern half of the site, while the west section at the west end was filled with demolition rubble and the possible remains of a 19th century garden wall. No archaeological features or finds were evident.
