Depopulated settlement, originally called Dail a Mhoraire Bheag. It consists of a row of longhouses attached to the south side of a rectangular enclosure. At the east end are two further longhouses with a small enclosure adjoining the east end of the east house. Five other longhouses lie to the south, three beyond the head dyke. Walkover survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in June/July 2015 to assess damage on the Mar Lodge estate resulting from flooding in the wake of storm Bertha. Walkover survey by Highland Archaeology Services along the river Dee in 2023 (NO08NW0055) included the riverside part of this site, and recorded possible structure footings at NO 04295 89332. Not previously recorded, this was roughly rectangular, measuring 4m by 7m, and up to 0.2m high spread over a small area, though there is some possibility that this is natural wash. Dalvorar may be an unnamed settlement shown on the Gordon map (1636-1652).
