Farmhouse, built on the site of a castle. The 1st edition OS map depicts the farmhouse as one of a complex of five rectangular buildings. There is an enclosure wall projecting north from the western end of the farmhouse, and a rectangular enclosure to the east. On the 2nd edition OS map the farmhouse has been extended at the east and west, creating an irregular U-plan building. Only one of the other rectangular buildings remain. There is now a more defined enclosure around the farmhouse, and a D-plan enclosure to the south. Current maps show the remaining rectangular building has been removed, and a new rectangular building added to the south-east of the farmhouse. The farmhouse was built in the mid-19th century using stones from Crandart Castle, one of which was dated 1660 and has since been removed to Airlie Castle (NO25SE0011). It is a single-storey farmhouse constructed from rubble with a slate roof, and it has a moulded doorpiece. There are the remains of a lime kiln to the south of the farmhouse (NO16NE0028).
