Road bridge, still in use carrying the public road over the Balloch Burn, dates from the second half of the 19th century, probably 1857. It has a small single segmental arch and is constructed of rubble with later concrete soffits. The parapets widen at the approaches. Not to be confused with the Bridge of Forter over the River Isla (see NO16SE0026) or the other road bridge over the Balloch Burn which lies to the west (NO16SE0047).
