Remains of a prehistoric settlement with associated field system, recorded by the OS during field survey in 1973. A settlement of 13 stone walled huts (A - N) and a contemporary field system marked by stone clearance heaps, ruinous walls, and a few lynchets. 'A' and 'B' are contiguous, both measuring 9.5 m in diameter between wall centres. The entrances are in the southeast. The east half of hut 'B' is occupied by a ruinous rectangular structure measuring 5.5 m north-south by 4.5 m. 'C' measures 7 m in diameter between wall centres. The entrance is in the southeast. 'D' measures 12 m in diameter between wall centres. The entrance is in the southeast. 'E', ill-defined, measures 11 m in diameter. The entrance is in the southeast. 'F' is of 'Dalrulzian' type, measuring 7.5 m in internal diameter and 14.5 m between outer wall centres. The entrance is in the south. 'G' is of 'Dalrulzian' type, measuring 7.5 m in internal diameter and 12.5 m between outer wall centres. The ill-defined entrance is in the east. Both 'F' and 'G' utilise a field wall to form part of their south arcs. 'H' measures 9 m in diameter between the centres of a wall spread to 3 m. The entrance is not evident. A field wall abuts on to the south arc. 'J' measures 18 m in diameter between wall centres. In the southern half a slight scarp inside the hut 4.5 m in from the wall is suggestive of the central area of a 'Dalrulzian' hut, but there is no trace of it elsewhere. The entrance is in the southeast. 'K' measures 10.5 m in diameter between the centres of an unusually thick wall spread to 3.5 m. The entrance is in the southeast. 'L' measures 11 m in diameter between the centres of a wall spread to 3 m. The entrance is in the southeast. 'M' is of 'Dalrulzian' type, measuring 9 m in internal diameter and 16.5 m between outer wall centres. The entrance is in the southeast. 'N' measures 10.5 m in diameter between the centres of a wall spread to 2.7 m. A clearance heap overlies the east side of the entrance, which is in the southeast. The field system is partly overlaid in the south by very weathered rig and furrow (see NO25NW0045).
