Details Icehouse, built in 1849 by J and W Smith with masonry work carried out by John Fraser of Aberdeen, and carpentry by John Thomson, also of Aberdeen. It is sited in the bank by the back drive to Balmoral Castle (NO29NE0023), with a coursed, squared granite entrance elevation to the section above ground, with an ashlar coped, waved wallhead a and simple boarded door. The sides and rear are built into the bank.
