Remains of a cross, possibly a market cross, although a poor example. It is mentioned in the OSA of 1793 and was described as 8' high. Tradition states that this, and the grave-slab at its base (probably of 14th - 15th century date), mark the grave of the 2nd Lord Gray, in commemoration of whose return from the Crusades, the church is said to have been erected. When re-visited by the OS in 1958 his free-standing cross, was 6' high and the graveslab lay at its foot.
