Remains of a farmstead or township that is depicted on the 1864 1st edition OS map as three rectangular buildings and a large enclosure, with a sheepfold to the east. The OS Name Book describes it as ;a few cottages, formerly a farmhouse'. Wester Bonhard is also depicted on the 1794 John Ainslie map. On the 2nd edition, the buildings are shown as roofless. Recorded by RCAHMS Glen Clova survey in 1999 as a township and eight shieling huts. The township comprises six buildings, a corn-drying kiln and several enclosures, the buildings up to 18.8m long and 4.1m wide within walls reduced to grass-grown footings. The kiln is on the north side of a stackyard containing at least five stack stands. The shieling huts are dispersed across the slope to the north and east, all rectangular in plan and up to 6.4m long within low wall footings. The remains were also recorded by walkover survey in 2021 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NO37SW0150).
