Details Elizabethan silver coin found while digging in a garden. It is worn and the face, looking to left, is obscured but but the crown is visible. Inscription ELIZABETH : D G ANG H R - X II REGINA. Small pellets around inscription. On reverse - coat of arms - detail largely obscured but three lions (possibly) in top right hand corner of shield and fleur-de-lys in top left hand corner. Long cross with bifurcated ends. Date 1577 on top of shield. Inscription POSVI (cross) DE V.AD (cross) MML (or possibly E) V (cross). Again pellets around the inscription. A possible Elizabethan silver sixpence.
