Dovecote, possibly of 17th century date, in excellent state of preservation. A date stone of 1595 belies the period of the structure, and has probably been inserted from an earlier secular building. It is rectangular and gabled, constructed of rubble and slate, crowstepped, and with a moulded string course. The door lintel has the monogram DMHG but a skewputt is dated 1595 and bears the monogram DM . The monograms refer to Sir David Maxwell and his wife Helen. The design is unusual in that it is neither of the lectern nor the beehive type, rather a single cell building with a pitched roof.
