Cottage dating from the early 18th century, extended in the early and mid 19th century and the early 20th century. Single-storey, rectangular-plan steading type building, extended to the west as cottages. Constructed of rubble masonry, stugged at the mid 19th century addition at the west, with a graded stone slate roof and grey slates at the west of the north pitch. Early 20th century kitchen/washing house addition at the northwest, constructed in cream brick with a piended stone slate roof. Brick stacks. Windows are mostly sash and case, with plate glass at the bottom and multi-pane at the top.The interior has a boarded coomb ceiling at the original building and modern pig styes (1991). The property is also known as Stables Cottage.
