Mansion, still in use. It was built in 1565 and remodelled in 1688-99. It was extended in 1800, with a later extension before the pavilion wings were rebuilt 1929 by Reginald Fairlie, architect. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as an L-plan building with a court in the north-east corner closed to the east by a rectangular range. There are two pavilion wings to the west, with walls joining them to the corners of the west elevation. On the 2nd edition OS map the house has been expanded to the north and the east, filling the court in the north-east corner. A greenhouse has been added to the east elevation, and the southern pavilion has a roofed structure joining it to the main house. Current maps show the pavilion wings have been removed, and replaced by smaller wings projecting from the corners of the west elevation. It is a three-storey rubble-built mansion with slate roofs.
