Details Farmstead still in use. On the 1st edition OS map (circa 1846) it is called 'South Mains' and is shown as having a rectangular steading with central open court, with entrance pend to the south east, and another block attached to the west side with another central open court. A small building lies to the north and the house to the east. A mill pond lies circa 80 m to the south. By the (circa 1888) 2nd edition OS map the name has been changed to 'Downdubbs'. Both courts have now been roofed over. The building to the north has gone and the house has now been moved to the south, although there is now a smaller building to the east. The pond still lies to the south. The 2005 map shows that the pond has been drained and the farm layout has changed with later buildings.
