Site of a cairn. In 1810 a sandy mound was cleared for the building of the Second Free Church (NO53SE0098). This proved to be a cairn. According to the OS Name Book, fourteen or fifteen skeletons were dug out of the foundations, and some of the neighbouring cottages were paved with the cists. Dr Robert Dickson of Carnoustie, writing in 1878, recorded that thirty cists had been found on the site.
